I think it seems kinda stupid to ban the videos during the day when most of the kids who they are trying to "protect" will be in school and have no buisness sitting at home watching MTV in the first place.. I enjoy the videos they're talking about banning, Im not stayin up 'till midnight to watch MTV, I watch it during the day while doing my house work ect. For that matter, I dont see anything wrong with the videos they want to ban... There's no nudity in them. And as far as sexually oriented... Hell everything is sexually oriented, look at the commerial for herbal essence shampoo and conditioner.. I mean the woman is having an orgasm while washing her hair.. They can show those commercials but take away Brittneys toxic video, come on.. gimme a break!!!!

i agree, those children should be at school, learning their abc's and 123's, not sitting at home watching mtv, bet, vh1, you get it.. there is no way to block our kids from violence or sexually oriented material, commercials on tv have them, shows on tv have them, even things on nickelodeon have them.. there is one spongebob squarepants episode where all they do is curse the whole show.. mind you, they do bleep it out, but my 6 year old is watching this, a show that is intended for little kids, and they have this on there?and there is a commercial on nickelodeon, where it talks about going to an auto mall here close to my home, and it says "rave" and they show a bunch of teenagers dancing, shaking their titties left n right.. And again, this channel is made specifically for young children, cause this comes on during the daytime, when my 6 year old is at school and i have nickelodeon on for my 9 month old, who is infatuated with dora the explorer.. getting back to the point, they are just gonna cross the line the other way.. they feel the lines were crossed with janet's breast, granted, but now they will punish everyone else.. they should stick with the matter on hand and focus on that, instead of ranting and raving about all the other insignificant stuff..

I'm positive MTV's just doing this while the whole Janet Jackson scandal is in the air. As soon as that's gone, they'll start showing the videos again.
If you think that Sponge Bob episode was bad, you should see the one where Sponge Bob, Mr. Crabbs, and Patrick go "panty raiding." I can't believe they'd do that in a children's cartoon. I always thought they kept such material subliminal (i.e. Crabs the Warthog, Piles the Beaver, etc. on "Cow and Chicken").

for some reason I couldn't help reading "children should be at school, learning their abc's and 123's, not sitting at home watching mtv" as if a rapper was spitting it. So odd.

children should be at school
learning their abc's
and 123's
not sitting at home watching mtv

hmmm...maybe you have a career in writing rap lyrics for social situations

Anyway, the cartoons are nothing new. Listen to what Peppy La Pew says on Bugs Bunny. I'd be more concerned about the real stuff that they see and hear over the cartoons. (And, yes, I am a Mom, too)

AS for MTV, I guess that should just say that they are banning those videos. If they don't play them during the day, when will they play them? It's not like they play videos at night anymore

Right. Try telling a 12th grader to "learn his ABC's and 123's." I guarantee the suggestion won't be taken favorably.
